　　新时代运动，自上一世纪六、七十年代以来，经历30多年的迅猛发展，从西欧和北美扩展到世界各地，形成风靡全球的反叛现代性的文化寻根大潮。影响所及，在学术、思想、宗教、科学、法律、商务、文学艺术和日常生活等领域都引发出巨大的冲击波。它的前身是资本主义社会内部具有反文化性质的嬉皮士运动，如今成为对抗物质主义的超越种族和国界复归东方思想和原始宗教（以萨满教和巫术为代表）的精神觉醒运动和泛生态运动，以"灵性"、"治疗"、"整合"等观念为依托，试图在传统基督教信仰之外重新找回人类与宇宙自然的精神的和谐状态。
